BIRMINGHAM, UK - 18th July 2005 - Conekt is pleased to announce that it has been accepted as a member of the Society of British Aerospace Companies (SBAC). The SBAC represents the civil air transport, aerospace, defence and space industries operating in the UK economy. As the country's only national aerospace trade association, the SBAC is recognised by industry and government decision makers alike as the voice of the aerospace industry in the UK.
Conekt is placing significant emphasis on developing its aerospace portfolio and, with its experience of working on engine control, flight control, sensors, systems and materials for the aerospace divisions of its previous parent companies, Conekt has the ability to provide extensive services to aerospace suppliers and manufacturers. Dr Kevin Richardson is responsible for developing Conekt's existing and future aerospace portfolios.
Richardson comments, "Membership of the SBAC demonstrates Conekt's continued commitment to support the UK aerospace industry. By actively participating in the SBAC we will be able to raise awareness within the industry of Conekt's capabilities in a number of key aerospace-related engineering disciplines. This will enable a greater number of SBAC members to benefit from Conekt's expertise in delivering innovative engineering solutions."
Conekt had to meet stringent entry requirements prior to being accepted as a member of the SBAC and is now positioned to contribute to shaping the national agenda for the UK aerospace industry. In addition, SBAC membership provides a spring-board for developing new aerospace business in the global marketplace.
