BIRMINGHAM, UK - 13th April 2005 - Conekt has been the proud sponsor of the Taurus Sports motorsport car over the last few years, and now the 2003 season car will take its place in history appearing in the recently released Sony Playstation game, Gran Turismo 4.
Gran Turismo is a popular game played by millions and features authentic racing gameplay that focuses on more than 650 cars, up to 100 courses and unique race modes. Conekt are pleased to announce that the Taurus Sports car, driven by Phil Andrews, appears in the blockbuster game released this month.
This year, Conekt is sponsoring the Nasamax Judd motorsport car owned by Team Nasamax. The car and its driver, Phil Andrews, intend to race in the forthcoming 24hr Le Mans race.
Phil Andrews commented, "Le Mans is our complete focus for this year and I am confident that we can achieve a podium position. The Team Nasamax car is the only bio-ethanol wholly renewable fuelled car taking part in the Le Mans race and it would be fantastic to show that environmentally friendly cars can compete as well as the traditional diesel racecars".
Conekt is developing an electrically power assisted steering system which can be fitted into the Nasamax Judd. Due to racing regulations, the system will be removed for the Le Mans race, however, Conekt will be testing the system in the car over the forthcoming year.
