Magnetic Society Seminar

EMC TestingEMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) has become an increasingly important aspect of electrical, electronic and electromagnetic engineering in recent times, affecting a broad range of industries. The development of electrical systems in the automotive industry; the continued evolution of wireless communication devices; the advances in sensitive medical technology; and the proliferation of domestic consumer electronics are all examples of areas where EMC issues have risen to prominence.

In conjunction with the UK Magnetics Society, this seminar aims to bring together EMC specialists from a broad variety of backgrounds ranging from design and simulation through to testing and instrumentation. This will allow the 'bigger picture' to be explored and links forged. Engineers not necessarily directly involved with EMC, but who may encounter EMC issues in the course of their work will be able to use this seminar to understand the problems EMC can present and where to find resources to assist in developing solutions.

Topics Covered Include:

• Modeling EMC behaviour in complex systems.
• EMC testing and its benefits.
• EMC in industry, a focus on automotive and railway specific issues.

With a proud history as a UKAS accredited consultancy, Conekt has made substantial investments in its EMC testing capabilities. As well as offering a wide variety of automotive EMC testing, Conekt is well placed to provide aerospace EMC testing services. Conekt can now perform indirect lightning strike testing and is home to the UK's only free-field HIRF testing (High Intensity Radiated Field) capability.

These facilities offer customers the opportunity to identify and understand a wide range of EMC issues early, reducing the potential impact of any EMC challenges. For more information on Conekt's EMC testing capabilities, click here.
