BIRMINGHAM UK - 16th April 2004 - Conekt is pleased to announce that it was one of the four companies nominated as finalists for the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business of the Year Award 2004, sponsored by The Wilkes Partnership.
The article that featured on page 11 of the April 2004 addition of Chamberlink (the official publication of Birmingham and Solihull Chamber of Commerce) included a short description of TRW Conekt which is shown below;
TRW Conekt
This Solihull-based technology consultancy business specialises in the supply of industrial knowledge based engineering and technology services to automotive, aerospace and industrial customers. Formed in 2001, it brought together various internal research departments and testing facilities of TRW Automotive.
Conekt also has a small but growing testing facility in Detroit, USA. Over the past two years it has made a number of further changes to its structure, systems and processes to turn the business into a self-sufficient profit centre, rather than a cost to TRW. The key to this is the need to expand into more external markets, reduce dependency on TRW and offer its skills, capabilities and technical services outside the group.
TRW Conekt is the consultancy arm of TRW Automotive and brings together key services in engineering, knowledge and technology. Conekt has operated in the automotive, aerospace, professional and industrial sectors for almost 40 years, generating major competitive advantage through the generation of new ideas and the application of science and technology in product development and manufacturing.
